Physical therapist

Dr. Corey Southers

Corey earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Movement Science from the University of Evansville in southern Indiana. His passion for strength training grew during an intensive internship with the University Athletics’ head strength coach, an experience that deeply influences his clinical practice today.

He holds advanced clinical certifications in various areas, including manual therapy, Functional Range Conditioning, the Postural Restoration Institute, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Functional Dry Needling, among others.

As a former Division-I Men’s Soccer player at the University of Evansville, Corey earned All-Conference honors and Scholar-Athlete recognition. He continued his involvement in soccer by coaching the Women’s Soccer team, contributing to their Missouri Valley Conference Championship victory while completing his graduate studies.

Beyond his collegiate athletic career, Corey embraced competitive CrossFit for six years before transitioning his fitness focus to prioritize sustainability after he became a father to his two wonderful boys. He is particularly passionate about guiding clients in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s to cultivate strength, health, and wellness practices that sustain them into their later years.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Corey finds joy in exploring the mountains, National Parks, and scenic landscapes of the western United States. He and his wife, Marla, share a love for adventure and hospitality, owning a home in Costa Rica that they also operate as an Airbnb (hint hint). Together with their two sons, Rhodes and Ames, their dog Ginger, (and formerly Oreo who crossed the rainbow bridge in early 2024), they cherish moments of family time and outdoor exploration.
